Five modules. Every one of them stands alone.
License a single module and that is what you get — a clean workspace with nothing else in the sidebar and nothing else on the invoice. Add another whenever the work asks for it; because it was one database all along, the trace between them appears the moment you do.

Questions
Licensing, answered.
- Can we license just one module?
- Yes. Requirements, Tests, Risk, Architecture and SBOM are licensed separately, and any one of them stands on its own. A team that only writes requirements licenses Requirements — the other modules do not appear in the workspace and are not billed. You can add the rest later without migrating anything, because it was always one database.
- Do we have to use electronic signatures and approvals?
- No. Electronic signature is a setting on a workflow, and it is off on a new workflow — you turn it on for the workflows that need it, and only those. Approval chains and controlled states work the same way. A project with no standard to answer to runs the full platform without ever seeing a signature dialog, and still gets versioning, history and traceability.
- Is this only for medical device or safety-critical work?
- No. Regulated work is where we are sharpest, because it is the hardest version of the traceability problem — but nothing about the platform requires it. Teams building ordinary software and hardware use the same modules with the compliance controls left off. If a standard arrives later, you switch the controls on and the history is already in place.
- Is there a minimum project size?
- No. There is no minimum project size and no minimum number of projects. Licensing scales by the modules you take and the seats you need, so a two-person project is a legitimate way to use traceunified — not a rounding error on an enterprise contract.
- What comes with every license, regardless of modules?
- Traceability and impact analysis, reviews, releases and baselines, reports and dashboards, notifications, import and export, and the versioned, hash-chained audit trail. These are part of the platform rather than separately purchased modules — they work across whichever modules you hold.
- How do seats work?
- Three kinds. Creators have full read and write inside your licensed modules. Reviewers read, review, comment and approve. Stakeholders view published and approved items and comment. Creator and Reviewer seats can be named or floating; Stakeholder seats are named. You size each independently, so a large read-only audience does not cost what an authoring team costs.
- Do bundles cost less than buying modules separately?
- Yes. Core (Requirements + Tests), Professional (+ Risk) and Enterprise (+ Architecture) are priced below the sum of their modules, and the saving grows with the bundle. If you want a combination the bundles do not cover, we price the modules you pick.
- Does the trial include everything?
- Yes — the 30-day trial runs the full platform in your own isolated workspace, pre-loaded with an industry-specific project so you can evaluate real, connected work rather than an empty shell. Seeing the whole thread is the point of the trial; you then license only the modules you decide to keep.
- Can we run traceunified on-premise or air-gapped?
- Yes. Self-hosted runs the platform in your own data center, your own cloud account, or a fully isolated network, under the same module-and-seat license as cloud. You decide where your data lives.
