Activity
Everything the sync engine cannot finish on its own — setup problems, links that are held, failing or orphaned, and writes waiting to be delivered — and what you can do about each.
Activity is the screen you check routinely. It lists everything the engine cannot finish on its own, and every figure at the top of it is also a way into that set.
Sync cycles in the last 24 hours
A strip of counts by outcome: succeeded, moved nothing, failed, aborted, running and stalled. The moved nothing figure is shown on purpose: a quiet cycle is normal, but an estate where every cycle succeeds while moving nothing is usually connected to nothing.
Setup problems
Configuration issues, each with the remedy that clears it. For example:
- an integration that is paused, or has no routing;
- a route that has never linked anything;
- a connection that no longer authenticates, or is read-only;
- a hand-made webhook that has never delivered;
- a cycle that stopped part-way, with nothing started on its route since.
Errors
Links that are not moving, in three states:
- Held — outbound writes are paused for a reason the item itself supplies: its approval was superseded, a controlled status locked it, it is frozen, or it is checked out. Inbound changes keep mirroring.
- Failing — the last attempt errored, and the error is shown.
- Orphaned — one end of the link no longer exists.
Pending and past activity
Pending lists writes waiting to be delivered to the other tool. Past activity lists writes that were delivered.
Acting on what you find
- Queue a failed write again once its cause is fixed.
- Abandon a write that should not be delivered.
- Clear a link's error once it no longer applies.
Note Abandoning and clearing require a written reason, which is recorded. Each action also works in bulk on a selection.
Unattributed edits
An inbound edit made by an external account that cannot be matched to a person is held, not attributed to somebody plausible. Activity counts these and links to Account mapping, where each account is mapped once.
Who can open it
Activity is available to organisation administrators, quality managers and project managers. Each person sees only the projects they can read, and the screen says so when the view is partial.
